Blog Tour ~ Her Cowboy Casanova by Michelle Kemper Brownlow

Title: Her Cowboy Casanova
Series: Virginia Bred: Book One
Author: Kate McGuinness
Dylan Jacobson has had every girl he has ever wanted for as long as he can remember. Growing up in the small town of Peppersville, VA, and the only child of one of the most influential families in the area, he is a star to everyone he knows. Now that he is building the life that he has always wanted, surrounded by family and friends, he realizes only one thing is missing.
That is until Lorrie Cambridge drives into town. After the recent death of her mother due to cancer, she decides to find out who she is without her loved ones by her side. With her car packed and a map at hand, she sets her sights on her ultimate goal, a new life for herself in a new home. Only her plans don’t include a man and all the temptations they provide, even if they are sexy and irresistible. Will the change of scenery and a new start at life be enough to open her heart to the possibilities? Or will Mother Nature intervene and steal their only hope of true happiness?

Kate McGuinness is a crazy klutz who lives with her character of a husband, who is always pulling her leg, and two fearless children, who strive to crack her sanity each day. She has always lived in the same town, but dreams of picking up and starting a new adventure somewhere different. While she waits for the pieces to fall into place, she lets her mind take her to places with her characters by her side. At the moment she has too many of them fighting to be heard, and cannot wait to begin each new journey of exploration. Some are tame while others have her worried she will be stepping into a world she never dreamed of entering. As always she is grateful and forever in your debt for your love and support during this exciting time in her life.

20 Fun Facts:

1) My favorite fruit is strawberries, but I can’t stand strawberry flavored candy; I prefer cherry flavored candy.

2) I have my own personal chauffeur, my husband. He literally drives everywhere, and I go so long between driving that I forget how to sometimes.

3) I am a dog person through and through. No cats allowed in my house.

4) Music is my escape from the crazy world around me. No matter how I feel, music always makes life better.

5) Though I love music, I do not listen to it while writing. I write my best late at night when my husband and kids are asleep, leaving me in complete and utter silence. That’s when the magic begins.

6) I live across the street from the beach, but I literally cannot stand it. I am not one to go and relax or play in the sand in the spring or summer. No, I much more prefer a lovely seaside village, surrounded by peaceful serenity.

7) My all time favorite car is Eleanor from Gone In Sixty Seconds.

8) My celebrity crush is Colin O’Donoghue, and he will be in one of my future stand alone novels.

9) I LOVE LOVE LOVE Lucille Ball!

10) I am a major daddy’s girl, but not to the extent that I still say daddy.

11) I love to cook, but cannot stand cleaning up. And I am a MESSY cook.

12) I love restoration and repurposed materials. My husband and I do all kinds of projects together when spring and summer arrive.

13) I am a stay at home mom and love it.

14) I am nervous and excited and feel like I want to jump out of my skin from this whole journey to releasing my debut.

15) I will watch pretty much any movie you put in front of me, other than horror. Hubby will attest to that, since last time he took me to see one I kept him up all night with me. I barely slept for a month and still freak out when the title is mentioned.

16) I have a huge sweet tooth, and no will power against dessert.

17) When in a rocker or swing, I cannot stand when someone interrupts my rhythm. I have to control the speed or I kick them off completely.

18) When I was younger, if my food touched at all I refused to eat it. I would eat one section at a time, no blending. I am better now, but some foods still cannot touch.

19) I love all colors and have a hard time picking one favorite. Any given day my preference can change, and the tone of the color can change everything instantly.

20) I still can’t believe I am writing. To think that others will read my thoughts feels surreal, but utterly unbelievable.

Title:  Leighton’s Summer
Series:   SYNSK # 2
Author:  K.C. Finn
Published:  April 15th, 2014 by Clean Teen Publishing
Word Count:  76,000
Genre:  YA paranormal adventure
Content Warning:  Mild Violence
Recommended Age:  16+
Synopsis:  A teenage boy with something to prove gets caught up in a web of crime and deceit in England, 1945.
In the weeks leading up to his sixteenth birthday, gifted psychic Leighton Cavendish finds himself suddenly packed off to Blackpool, a glittering, teenage paradise filled with plenty of opportunities for amusement—and trouble. With only a preoccupied grandmother to keep an eye on him, Leighton’s desperation for adventure leads him out into a world of holidaymakers, candy, and carnival rides—the ideal place to spend six weeks away from home.
But Leighton’s psychic visions are encroaching on his fun, trying to warn him of the danger that lurks beyond the shimmering lights of the Golden Mile. Who are the mysterious thieves Leighton sees in his head, and what do they want with the children they seek? A girl called Faye holds the answer, but she has enough problems of her own.
Amid the climate of a tourist town recovering from the impact of the Second World War, two lost teenagers will discover a shocking truth about human greed. Together, they will try to fight against it. For Leighton and Faye, this will be a summer to remember—one filled with challenges that must be overcome.
A summer that turns a boy into a man.

“Look,” I began, knotting my fingers together to try and hide the blood, “those lads I was with… I don’t want anything to do with them really.”
Faye bit her lip. “They’re bad kids,” she agreed, “I didn’t think you were like that.”
“I’m not,” I promised, once again resisting the urge to grab her arm and insist, “I just… I didn’t know they were bad before I started going around with them. I only met them yesterday.”
“Opinions can change quickly, can’t they?” she snapped, her mood shifting once more.
“Charming, that is,” I bit back, throwing myself away from her, against the bench, “Well you can keep your changing opinions to yourself, because I know which way my mind is set.” I felt all my emotions bubbling up to the surface, brimming like a wave ready to crash against the sand. I tried for a moment to hold them back, but it was no good, all the agitation and anger spilled over and I couldn’t stop myself from speaking again. “You want to know why I went with them? Because they’re hard lads, apart from Freddie, and there’s four of them laying on the persuasion. And frankly, I quite like my face and I didn’t fancy getting it smashed in so I’d look like a mosaic for my sixteenth birthday, all right?”
My voice had risen during the altercation and I found there were people looking at me as they passed us by on the bench. I imagined what a state I must have looked with dried blood on my face and only a vest on. I leaned away from the passers-by, upset to find that tears were once again escaping from Faye’s silent face. I felt awful instantly for exploding at her; I had no right to upset her after what I’d done.
“Would they really smash your face in?” she whispered.
“I reckon so,” I replied, gulping down a dry breath. I was grateful for the nosebleed in that moment; my face didn’t have enough blood left in it to glow crimson and show her how embarrassed I was.
“Are you mad at me?” Faye asked, her lips shaking like they had on the Ferris Wheel.
I let out a laugh, some of my tension going with it.
“What would I be mad at you for?” I replied.
She gave a little shrug. “For thinking you were a crook? For spying on you? For not telling you yesterday that I had powers of my own?”
“No,” I said simply, realising that it was the truth, “I shouted at you for no reason and ruined your handkerchief, so I’d say we’re about even. Besides, it won’t do to be mad at you like that if we’re going to be friends.”
She wiped her last tear away and gave me a more hopeful look.
“Can we be friends?” Faye asked, like she wasn’t even sure that it was possible.
“I think we have to be after all this palaver,” I said with a grin.
A wave of thoughtfulness washed over her features for a moment, but then she nodded.
“Right then,” she answered, “shall we go somewhere and get your face cleaned up?”
I waved a hand at her. “I’ll dunk my head in the sea. It’ll be fine.”

Teaser 2 - My Mistake

When he came back around to the front of the barn, she was sitting on top of a bale of hay, holding up a brown paper back with a grease stain on the bottom. Mooch, traitor that he was, perched at her feet, looking up at her adoringly, waiting for her to drop the bag.

“Mama sent some chicken and biscuits.”

He grunted an acknowledgment, and pulled his hat lower over his eyes so he didn’t have to see the pain in hers.

She stood, setting the bag down next to her, and sauntered over to the stall where he was spreading fresh straw.

“What’s wrong?”

He couldn’t think of the words to say to her. Everything that came to mind was wrong, and Brent knew that there was no way to have this conversation without hurting her. But he had to, or else he would end up hurting her worse in the long run.

As he kicked straw around the floor of the stall, he knew he was being stupid. For the last two weeks, all he’d talked about was how badly he wanted her to stay with him. And now he was about to do this…

He finally stopped when she said, “Brent. You’re scaring me. Is this about me not being able to have kids?”

“No.” Brent brushed past her to go to the feed room. Rattling the bucket brought in the mare, an enormous equine with a shaggy coat and bones showing through loose skin. She followed him into the stall, as he emptied the bucket into her feed trough, and then started pulling the injections from his pockets and preparing them silently.

When he had the first one ready, he finally got the guts to raise his head and look at Casey and deliver the brilliant line he’d spent the past ten minutes coming up with. “I need to think about some stuff.”

Her mouth dropped, and Brent lowered his head to the mare’s shoulder. While she was distracted, eating, he pinched some skin between his gloved fingers and stuck in the needle, pushing the plunger.

Brent had no idea what happened next. All he was aware of was a swift intake of breath, before he saw a wall of brown crush into him, then a jumble of whinnies, a frantic woof, a shrill scream, some clatters, then hoofs aimed at his chest, before blackness took over.

Revealed by You by Jo-Anna Walker Release Day Blitz

Twinsie Jo

Revealed by You - Joanna Walker

The sharp edge of love…

Brett MacLean was possessive. Even more since I became his. He was my desire…my ultimate pleasure…he was mine.

As each day passed, he revealed a part of himself that had lain dormant. A broken childhood. A troubled man. One I was determined to help.

After months together, I thought I knew him. But soon realized I was wrong. His dark secrets were only the beginning. The past was more disturbing than I ever could have fathomed.

His deep seeded need for me came with a price that could have consequences. I needed him just as much. Because of this, we would be tested. My greatest fear was that it would take us beyond the limits of our love.

People may not believe in love at first sight. The first pull. The first thing that tugs at your heart, leading you to that person. Hell, I definitely didn’t. Not until I met him. My best friend. My lover. Four weeks, three days and eight hours had passed since I’ve seen Brett MacLean.

The day he left for New York felt like a lifetime ago and I couldn’t wait to see him again. For him to come home. We weren’t living together yet but I spent every day at his apartment, needing to be close to him in some way.

Although video chats were a new thing for us, it wasn’t the same. I missed his touch, his hot breath against my skin, him telling me what he wanted and how he wanted it, the dark possessive air about him as he claimed me. Even though he was dark and brooding, demanding and controlling, I gave in willingly.

Excerpt #2 (long):

I slowly rose to my full height and found Brett standing a few feet away from me. His suitcase in hand, aviator sunglasses on his handsome face and four buttons on his white dress shirt unbuttoned. My stomach flipped, my heart thumping hard against my rib cage at the mere sight of him. God, he was beautiful. Possessive and dominating, dark and sensual. Sex rolled off of him like a cool morning fog.

He pulled off his glasses, his blue eyes locking with mine. A smug smile formed on his hard chiseled face. A dark line of scruff covered his jaw and I couldn’t wait to lick every inch of him.

My body bloomed, needing his hands on me after so long but I was frozen. Captivated by his deep blue stare as he stalked towards me.

He handed the driver his bags and closed the distance between us. He cupped the back of my neck, brushing his thumb over my bottom lip. “Hi my Evvie.”

Hearing him claim me by just his words, made my insides quiver. “Hi,” I breathed. My heart gave a thump. I swore my insides just turned to mush.

He smirked and leaned down to my ear. “I missed you.” His lips brushed down the length of my jaw. “I’ve missed your smell. Lavender. Vanilla. Me.”

My heart thumped hard, pounding in my ears as he held me restrained just by his hand and mouth. I couldn’t move even if I wanted to.

His fingers brushed down my cheek before capturing my mouth in a hard demanding kiss.

My lips instantly parted, taking his tongue deep inside me. The feel of his warm lips against mine after all of these weeks ignited something I hadn’t felt in a while. A wanton need spread through me. I gripped his shirt, pulling him against me. More.

A soft groan erupted from the back of his throat as the kiss deepened. Pushing me up against the side of the town car, his hold on the back of my neck tightened.

I moaned, sucking and pulling at his tongue.

He chuckled and released my mouth, trailing kisses down to my ear. “I’ve missed you so much, lover,” he whispered.

“Hmm…I’ve missed you,” I said, leaning my head to the side.

“I can’t wait to do nasty dirty things to that hot little body of yours,” he growled in my ear, inhaling deep.

I bit my lower lip to keep from panting and brushed a hand down his hard chiseled chest.

His teeth grazed up the side of my neck. “I can’t wait to get you alone.”

Excerpt #3:

I smiled and placed a soft kiss on his lips before he pushed me back on the bed. For the rest of the night, Brett gave me what I needed from him. What I craved.

Through these months of being with him, I had learned so much. His feelings revealed, his past laid out before him, his true desires on display. For me.

His passion, his love, his dark possession consumed me. I was drowning in him and as each day past, I fell further and further into his depths. Not wanting to come up for air in the least.

He gave me him. All of him. Revealing a part of himself that he never shared with anyone. The once broken boy that grew up into a strong and powerful man was mine. It would take a while for him to heal, to get over what had been done to him but I would be by his side every step of the way.

Only I knew the real Brett MacLean.
